The Show Components

This year’s display will contain a total number of 16,697 “pixels” displayed up a total number of 225 models across the yard.

This number is up over 20% from last year’s 13,682 pixels that were displayed and up over 65% over 136 models.

The display also contains two “P10 Matrix Panels” that consist of a total of 40 P10 panels housed in a 3×6 foot, 36 panel Matrix and a 4 panel “Tune to” matrix panel located near the street.

The 36 panel display will have the ability to play video to go along with the musical sequences throughout the season.

The 4 panels display near the street displays information regarding the current song and FM frequency (92.1) to tune your radio to as your listen to the music in the comfort of your own car.

New Additions for 2019

Additions to this year’s 2019 display include:

  • Completion of the 1st level roof over the right side of the house,
  • 8 additional snowflakes on the 2nd level roof,
  • a megatree that is being moved from the left side yard to the right side yard and increased from 1600 to 3200 pixels allowing a more detailed view of singing faces and animations.
  • The biggest impact for this year’s display will be the total of 87 stakes that will be placed in the yard to occupy the empty space between the street and the house.

The pixels are controlled using Falcon controllers.  These controllers are used specifically for the type of pixels that are used in the holiday lighting community and created by a very intelligent individual who wanted to create something that was future proof and had the ability expand your display without having to purchase additional controllers.  If you would like to see more regarding the controllers in the show – you could check out pixelcontroller.com

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take for you to decorate:

Over the years – the process has been simplified as much as possible.  I start early in October to avoid the cold weather.  Clips have been mounted on the house and pixels have been drilled into or zip tied to PVC to simply install into the clips.  The more tedious portion of the setup involves running over 2000 feet of wiring to connect back to controllers

What does your electric bill cost:

I’ve been asked this question so many times that I had to go and make an assessment between November and December’s electric bills over the last 2 years.  It costs a whopping $34 to run the should for the month of December.  This is primarily due to the fact that every bulb used in the show is an LED bulb and only run at 30% brightness.  Yes that’s right – the bulbs are run at a 30% intensity.
